  • Welcome to my blog!

Images inspire me. Whether I am shooting a wedding, bar mitzvah, or an exotic sunset, I strive to create unique, creative, and dynamic images every time. Just as your day is special for you, each image is special in its own way to me. It is this attention to detail my clients appreciate in my work – the extra care I put into every click of the shutter.

Driven by a real passion for people and expressivity, I watch for emotion and capture it in a collection of lively and colourful images. I use my surroundings as a backdrop for manifestations of joy, laughter, love. I tell a story.

I could write more about my approach to photographing all sorts of events, but I’d rather you spend this time looking through my portfolio of images, and please, feel free to contact me. Let’s meet!

Amy & John

A lot of people ask me what I like about shooting weddings, and I have to say, it’s all about the people. What can be better than getting the honor to capture such special moments for people on their most special day? Amy and John were no exception. Not only was this a great couple, but they had their big day on NEW YEARS! There’s no better way to ring in 2012!

There were so many fantastic moments, it was difficult to select a handful to share with everyone on the blog. Enjoy the photos, the smiles, and the candid moments. As always, I appreciate all of the support and comments, so leave them here!

The gang all hangin’ out!

Amy looking out the window waiting for John and the groomsmen to arrive.

I think their smiles say it all!

Love these pics up on the mezzanine! I’m glad we didn’t get in trouble for moving around some of the furniture:)One of my favorite shots with this movie famous staircase.

Out for a stroll, followed by a piggyback ride from JohnI asked them to touch backs and try pushing one another over. They couldn’t stop laughing / thankfully no one fell!
These scarves added great color in these pics with the bridal party.Too much of a fun pic not to share!
The newly married couple!Amy couldn’t have been more perfectly framed by all of her friends’ shot glasses! The countdown to new years!Happy new year, and congratulations to Amy & John!

Elizabeth + Justin

It’s difficult to express how lucky I feel to have captured this special day for Elizabeth and Justin’s. I got to know this amazing couple during our engagement shoot, and immediately knew this was not going to be your average wedding. Both Liz (or “Liza” as her mom would say) and Justin really made me feel like part of their family and friends.

Special thanks to my man Rob Ackerman for all the great shots he captured throughout the day, Marsha Baker for making sure everything was ran smooth, Thomas K for putting together this amazing video, and most importantly, Elizabeth, Justin, their family and friends, for letting me capture these moments. I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the pics!

Love this pic of mom helping put on Elizabeth’s necklace!

Even Kobe couldn’t stop looking at Elizabeth all done up!

The final touches!

Justin waiting for his bride to be…

Love this shot!The whole gang!

The room looked beautiful!

“Introducing for the first time as hudband and wife…”
This was one crazy first hora / dance set!

Elizabeth and Justin thanking their family and friends.

One of my favorite shots from the party. Lost in their own world.

Sooo tempting to eat all the candy that was put out!

Awesome post Brian! You really did an outstanding job capturing all these moments. Elizabeth and Justin are going to be thrilled!

Elizabeth & Justin

I was so excited for this recent engagement shoot. I love being out in the city taking great pictures, and when you have a great couple like Elizabeth and Justin, who equally want to get great shots, and have a good time, you know you’ll end up with something special. Mission accomplished. We had great weather, beautiful fall colours, and Elizabeth and Justin’s dog Kobe to join in the fun.

Enjoy this fun set of pics!

I had to lead off with this photo. It is absolutely my favorite pic from the day!

When we saw this iron gate, we couldn’t resist…

Kobe was thrilled to come along. She also loves to pose.

Awww. What a picture perfect family.

HILARIOUS!Elizabeth is going to be a stunning bride.

Justin looks great – very GQ!

It took a little convincing, but we finally got Liz to lay on the ground… sort of.

I never get tired of shooting beautiful people against a beautiful fall backdrop.

Taking pictures really works up an appetite!

Another one of my favorite shots.“Much more interesting than my newspaper.”

I could have posted the clean smiling normal pose, but this one is way more fun.

Thanks for such a great shoot. Really excited for your wedding day!

Melissa Cass - November 11, 2011 - 3:53 pm

I am sooo in love with you two!!! I want your pics in my living room!!!!!!

Elena Mitnik - November 11, 2011 - 5:04 pm

This is just a sneak peak at how wonderful the wedding photos will be I am positive. These pictures are so real there is no fake posing and the fall colours really shine through.

My beautiful daughter completely showcases herself and I am certain that you hardly needed to enhance her (sorry to be a bragging mother) GQ is certainly the right word, Justin looks very dashing and I can see how he swept my daughter off her feet, not to forget I love my little granddog Kobe too.

These pictures are a true testament to love. Bravo Brian!!!

Tanya & Rowan

I was super pumped for my engagement shoot with Tanya and Rowan. Not only did we go to high school together, but Rowan and I played on the same baseball team growing up!

I couldn’t have asked for anything more out of this shoot together. The sun was out, the air was warm, the fall colours were at their best, and these two came out ready to have a good time, and take some great photos along the way.

Make sure you scroll down to see them monkey around on the ropes course! Enjoy!

I took this photo of them on prom night! How serendipitous this is the one they brought along.

I love the colourful outfits!

Rowan got it in his head to climb the pole and swing from the ropes…

So Tanya figured, why not join in!Spontaneous adventures like this, always make for the best shots.

A ring and a kiss.

or twenty…

I really liked how this one turned out.

Thanks again for such a great shoot! Can’t wait for you to see the rest!

I’m so proud of you both, you just don’t understand.

MrP - November 12, 2011 - 12:08 am

Wow!

I think that these shots bring forth the beauty of two beautiful NBB alumnae

Sam & Dan

I was so stoked for this engagement shoot. Sam and Dan suggested a beautiful park near their house, and being the heart of fall, the colours were fantastic! Scroll down and find the shot of this amazingly fun couple surrounded by a bunch of zombies out on the Toronto Zombie Walk!

One of my favorite shots from the whole shoot!

These two were having a blast. Dan was more than willing to ‘dip’ his fiance!

So much fun trying to direct a shoot through the window! I’m pretty sure people in this cafe thought we were crazy!

I promised you there would be zombies! Zombies, zombies everywhere!!!

Dan and Sam jumped at this idea!

Thank you both for such a fun Saturday afternoon, and great shoot. Can’t wait to show you the rest of the pics!

Awesome shoot Brian! especially love the lunch break in the middle

Brooke Alexander - November 1, 2011 - 10:23 pm

Absolutely beautiful Brian. The Autumn colours, the flowery artwork, the brick and those gorgeous wooden doors in those backgrounds, all wonderful. You capture all the little details and make it unique. It doesn’t hurt that this couple is absolutely gorgeous as well. They, and these shots should be in a magazine.
